Pairless "Parejita"

On my last days in Buenos Aires, I try to get the track of 'viejos milongueros", by checking Carlos Perez' teachers list.
Few are still alive, and only one still teaching - Eduardo Pareja, "Parejita".
I went to his class yesterday. He is 80, and his students are between 18 and 35, and most important, very good dancers.
It is more of a practica, rather than a class. Very cosy atmosphere...
Parejita is teaching back sacadas and colgadas.
" Nothing is really new, everything has been invented already. They just put them names and call it tango nuevo. The only things missing now are the music and elegance"
I danced and talked to his students. One of them says " What I cannot get still is his cadence (cadencia). No one can teach you this and it makes all the difference"
A girl says "I am fed up with all figures I learn in other classes. Now I just want to dance for the music".
It's like fresh breath of oxygen: among so many teaching methods, involving pilates, stretching, classical dance, yoga, contemporanean dance, etc, etc, to have somebody say: this is tango, get it the way we danced and created it. Then put your life to it.
Less is the most.
